Rev. Bryant M. Wilcox
Senior Pastor/Teacher
Pastor Bryant M. Wilcox is a proud southern-bred black man, born on May 1, 1997 in Jacksonville, Florida where he was raised and educated. He is a product of the Duval County Public School System and graduated from Paxon School For Advanced Studies in 2015. Despite facing obstacles on his educational journey, Pastor Wilcox refused to be denied and persevered with the unwavering support of his parents.
After enrolling at the Florida State College at Jacksonville and subsequently transferring to Bethune Cookman University, Pastor Wilcox obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy with a concentration in Christian Ministries. It was during his time at Bethune Cookman University that he accepted his call into the ministry at the young age of 20, a moment that would shape the trajectory of his life.
Pastor Wilcox’s religious and community-centered upbringing instilled in him a strong sense of faith in God and love for mankind. He is a product of Summerville Missionary Baptist Church where Dr. James W. Henry served as pastor. His grandmothers, the late Mrs. Roberta Newman Jones and the late Mrs. Charlotte Holmes Marshall, played significant roles in shaping his character and instilling in him the belief that he would go on to do great things.
Pastor Wilcox’s passion for education and his desire to make a difference led him to pursue further studies at Duke University and Emory University. However, he made the decision to return home, start a family and work as a 6th grade math teacher at the KIPP school in Jacksonville, Florida. Since then, he has served various roles within the field of education, including as a teacher-mentor at Jean Ribault High School and as a specialist at the Interfaith Center at the University of North Florida.
In recognition of his special anointing and exemplary preaching, Pastor Wilcox was called to become the pastor of Second Baptist Church of Callahan on January 7, 2024. After prayerful consideration, he accepted the call embarking on a journey to make history and spread God’s love and message.
Pastor Wilcox currently serves as the Director of Campus Ministry and Church Relations at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida, while pursuing his Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Above all, Pastor Wilcox’s greatest accomplishments are rooted in his faith. He is a born-again believer and follower of Jesus Christ. He is married to Yazmyn Wilcox, and they have been blessed with two handsome sons, Isaac and Isaiah.
